You know what it’s like.
The doubt creeps in.
What if people don’t like me?
What if they don’t like what I say?
What if I look stupid?
Why are people going to buy something from me?
Everybody thinks I’m totally at home, standing in front of a bunch of women hosting a networking event.
Most of the time I am. But it hasn’t always been like this. There are still days when the doubt kicks in and I wish the ground would swallow me up.
I second guess myself and feel myself withdrawing into myself.
Every bit of experience whispers to me not to be so stupid.
I have learnt that you need to be who you are.
If somebody wants to buy something from you, they will buy because of you. If you try to be something you are not, they notice.
Don’t pretend or try to blend in and be like everybody else.
Do what you do in a way that you are comfortable with.
You will attract the right people for you.
I’m a big believer in what you put out there, you will attract back.
People will come to you because they are aligned with you and your values.
If you pretend to be something that isn’t you, you will attract the wrong people.
You can hide if you want to.
Sometimes it’s easier for you to hide behind the business. But people don’t actually buy into your marketing when it isn’t you. I’ve learnt this.
Be you. Turn it up. Turning it up doesn’t turn down anything, it raises it higher. Much higher.
The digital age gives us all some great opportunities that never existed before.
Don’t fake it until you make it.
Keep being yourself.
Keep doing it.
Put 100% of you into your business.
Share your values.
Share your opinions.
Share your beliefs.
Put all of this into your marketing, your content, your website, your videos, every email you write, every networking event you attend, every conversation you have, every comment you make on the social channels.
Stop pondering and procrastinating.
Don’t hide who you are.
Be yourself. That’s what the world wants to truly see.
The internet thing has made the world much bigger.
Step into it.
